uk childbirth and maternity benefits and tax benefits help please?
im confused ……….. I’ve read that a new pregnancy the health of mother and offer subsidies (what is this)? they were abolished, I also read that some means benefits that they tested your mortgage to consider? I get my husband a double salary, but want to stay at home and a mother for one year, we have a mortgage and bills heafty usual and we have both worked since the age of 17, im afraid we just manage payroll, but ive never been to the benefit of the country I never know what I failed to try to look at the tax credit calculator, but I am confused can anyone help? I really want to take one year to two years without work, but looks like I wont be able to buy it

Dear friend, I would kindly suggest that you go along to your local Citizens Advice Bureau and/or Department of Health and Social Services and local tax office and they will be able to explain to you what benefits etc you will or will not be entitled. They may even help you fill out the forms required.
I have been unemployed quite a few times and I agree with you that it is a ‘tangled mess’ of forms and big words when applying for benefits – you would think it was coming out of their own personal accounts… Anyway good luck with your quest..
By the way, try typing into your web browser “benefits I’m entitled to” and see where it takes you.
